Giancarlo Esposito Shoulda Won Tonight

I watched the Emmy’s this year, live, and it was pretty fun since I could interact with mainland people while the show was going on via GetGlue.

One of the reasons I tuned in, was because I was fairly certain Giancarlo Esposito would walk away with the Emmy nod for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama, for his stellar performance as Gustavo Fring on Breaking Bad. I was a bit shocked when they called out Aaron Paul instead, but if it couldn’t be Giancarlo, I was happy with Paul as the winner. I still think Season 4 of Breaking Bad was totally Gus Fring’s season. His character was the highlight of season 4 for me.

Watching Aaron Paul and Giancarlo Esposito at the Emmy’s was sweet. You could tell Aaron was totally shocked he won, and Giancarlo seemed genuinely happy for his costar.

But, seriously… couldn’t they have given the award to Giancarlo? Aaron Paul did such an amazing job this year in Part I of Season 5, they will surely have to consider him a big time contender next year.

Ah. Well. Giancarlo still wins in my book.
