sickness and soup and silver linings

I’m sick, so I skipped going in to work the past couple of days, and ate a lot of left-over chicken and chicken noodle soup. I’ll probably pass on Sunday’s 1/2 marathon in the BioAstin Marathon Readiness series. I’m kinda bummed, but it could be worse. I could have this cold a week before marathon instead of three, so I can’t complain too much. Hopefully I kick it and can enjoy the marathon congestion-free.My colds have a tendency to develop into sinus infections, so I become a big baby when I’m sick. I hate having to go to the doctor and take antibiotics.. and the fevers, and the pain..

Much of the day was spent forcing myself to sleep. I awoke approximately every three hours, and would eat if I woke up hungry. I’m thankful for the colder weather, otherwise my apartment would be unbearable in the day.

Highlight of the day, is I felt well enough to leave the house this evening and get some more soup. I bought some Tortilla chicken soup that has me pretty stoked, and some thai chicken soup.. also stokage there. I got tired of my plain old chicken noodle, so these will be a nice change.

I am thankful for my overall health, and the fact I have the ability to train for something as daunting as the marathon itself, so I can’t really complain. I also have some kick ass soup to try tomorrow, so… silver lining!
