I do miss the days of black ash falling from the skies in Mililani when they burned the sugar cane.

Link to some neat footage from around the dawn of statehood in Hawaii. I think about my mom’s stories, and the fact she and my father lived back in these days of old Hawaii. Seeing the old-school Local people is also pretty cool. Watch at the very end and listen to the narrator talk about Hawaii and the President of the U.S. Trippy! I’m somehow certain they didn’t really believe it would happen, but the fact that it did is awesome.
